Prayer and the Gospel
This story is one whose answer has not yet been totally fulfilled. Yet, I believe, as marketplace ministers, it is a place in which we are called to live: the place of persistent prayer.
I was working with a client who definitely was not a believer. He was having enormous financial problems in the business. I asked him if he believed in the power of prayer. He answered, “No!” I said that I did and would be praying for God to bring an answer.
He was not impressed, but touched that I would offer. The Lord brought an answer. My client could not really see that the answer was connected to prayer. Through our business dealings, our relationship has developed into a trusted friendship. I continue to pray for his and his family’s salvation. He now knows I pray for him. I believe these prayers are the rains that soften the heart and that the time will come that he will hear and receive the gospel.
